WHO THE SON SETS FREE IS FREE INDEED!

Mental Health Ministries believes in treating the whole person and strives for health, healing and freedom… whether that's mental, emotional, physical or spiritual. Jesus died for us to have our freedom… "He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins (Ephesians 1:7 NLT)"… and for us to live our lives and enjoy them… "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10 ESV)". This is what we strive for every day…to help our brothers and sisters find the health, healing and freedom that Jesus died for them to have and to be able to live an abundant life in His love. "So if the son sets you free, you will be free indeed (John 8:36 NIV)"!

OUR FOUNDER

Founder & President | Shauna Stebler-LMFT

Shauna served in the United States Air Force for just over 7 years in the Security Forces field both as a Security Specialist and a Military Working Dog trainer and handler. She received numerous awards and accommodations such as Airman of the Month, Airman of the Quarter, leadership awards and Achievement Medals. After her career in the US Air Force, Shauna pursued her Master's Degree as a Marriage and Family Therapist. She has been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Oklahoma for 10 years (2 years as an LMFT Candidate and 8 fully licensed). Shauna has worked with numerous individuals who have been incarcerated at some point in their lives and is very passionate about working with this particular population, especially the veterans who find themselves in it. Shauna speaks at employee trainings, retreats, and a prison across the state of Oklahoma. Shauna is the author of Surviving Separation and is currently working on her second book. Shauna is married with 3 children.

Shauna has been active in ministry for 19 years. She initially became involved in ministry by serving at church and assisting to coordinate local missions. She has been a part of several missions within the state as well as mission trips to McAllen, Texas and China. She also served as a small group leader and at a food pantry. Over the years, Shauna has helped with fundraisers for veterans and those in need. The more Shauna's passions grew, the more involved she became with not only serving and teaching, but also writing and sharing all that she has learned about mental health in order to help others.

After hearing so many horror stories over the years of various types of trauma, abuse, mental health struggles and addictions and how that had led people to the decisions they had made which led them to the point of incarceration, as well as the awful things they had experienced while incarcerated, Shauna didn’t want to just help before and after incarceration, but while incarcerated as well. Shauna made it her mission to bridge the gap. As a veteran, her heart especially hurts for her fellow warriors who have lost their way and ended up in some of these same positions of being stuck in mental, emotional, physical and spiritual prisons. Shauna doesn’t want to see any veteran struggle with PTSD or other mental health issues. She wants them to have all the help they need in order to be free and live a fruitful life. Shauna believes in ‘Leaving no man behind’. So, out of the passion to help her fellow brothers and sisters to break free from the prisons they have found themselves in, Mental Health Ministries was born. Shauna wants to see every man and woman, whether incarcerated, a veteran, or whatever population they find themselves in, to have the necessary tools and resources to be free!
